Any guesses what this is? 

Another odd building in northern Tallinn 

Street in northern Tallinn, sometime last autumn. 

Sunset. 

Part of the beauty of Tallinn lies in its innocent paradoxicality. Here, a tumble-down part of town bustling with lots ready to be devoured by concrete sky-rise, still half-heartedly rusting its Soviet past away, and in the middle, regularly-painted (i.e. every 20 years) a lighthouse. Sometimes even Tallinn itself forgets that it's a port.

Rabbit-proof fence opening out of the defunct Tivoli fairground of Tallinn. There are rumours that someone may even develop the land. Well, well, what a surprise...

I understand this building belongs to a Tallinn transport authority, but what its purpose is I don’t know. Looks like it’s been empty for years.

While parts of town are being demolished - listed building or nay - at an urgent pace, others remain blissfully unaware of the 21st century. This one even had a security guard determined to stop me photographing the high-tech premises and sell the photos to the highest industrial bidder.

Moved house (yesterday actually) and missed a post. Still summer, so still some interesting moonrises to see

No prizes for guessing what this is, but guess anyway... 

Still building... 

Tallinn race-track. Just a lazy afternoon with one horse training, then for three minutes: lightning. 

There's still some pagan stuff going on in the Baltic states, how much due to romantic aspirations for otherness I'm not sure, and Estonia leads the way in Europe for lowest church attendancy, but... Whatever, I like it here. 

Even Babylon never had it so good: rooftop parking, with spaces! 

Apart from the now well-established Russian community, scions of former "voluntary" emigrants for Soviet glory, numbering 20+% of the population, the remaining nouveau Estoniens can be numbered in digits rather than percentages. The Indian cohort can, I'm told, be counted on the fingers of both hands, as long as you're decimodactyl.

What is this? Ideas?...
