Tallinn Photographer Wanted

Thanks to Everyone for their kind, wacky, interesting comments. And my apologies for not answering anything. I no longer live in Tallinn so the site is available to any photographer who wishes to take over. Just drop me a line and we'll arrange the transfer.

Tallinn Daily Photo:
vacancy for photographer!

Hello All,
Those who visited this site at any time must have noticed I stopped posting a while ago. Basically, I am swamped in work and realised that I was actually not even going out enough to take photos anyway. So it's on hold. But: if anyone knows a Tallinner who would like to take over the site, ask them to contact me. Otherwise, it has to wait till I've got my head above water again.

And here it is a day or so later. Anyone interested should type "Coprinus comatus" in Google and find out why. Posted by Picasa

The shaggy mane mushroom, Coprinus comatus, also known as inky cap or "lawyer's wig". Interesting one this, stay tuned... Posted by Picasa

And this one is almost certainly the same as yesterday's, but found a couple of kms away in a park. (The same... same species not same individual. Fungi may be highly air-transmissible, but either as spores or mushroom pancakes.) Posted by Picasa

Back to mushrooms. I only have a moderate interest in fungi. Once, though, at a lecture at the British Natural History Museum, I was very surprised to hear that a very much larger proportion of mushrooms are edible than actually believed. One rather startling story was that one species, identified empirically as poisonous in western Europe was considered a delicacy in Russia. Yes: identical, same chemical composition, same everything, different expectations, different effects. Posted by Picasa
